Jackson's First Immunizations

Our health insurance issue FINALLY got worked out. It could have taken up to 30 days but thanks to the amazing husband for being so persistant, he got UHC to push our appeal through and get Jackson's insurance activated immediately. It was quite a relief! I am not good at pushing people on the phone where Mark is very good at it. If one person can't or won't help him, he insists on speaking with a supervisor or someone who can help him. I shut down in those situations and he's able to remain calm and get what he wants.

Soo..that meant Jax was able to get his shots on Friday. He did soo well. He got 1 shot in each leg and then an oral vaccine in his mouth which he was not to fond of. Definitely didn't taste like the cherry gas drops or cherry Tylenol he's had. He cried a little but really did far better than I expected. He was in good spirits yesterday but he definitely isn't himself today. He was up at 5:30am and wouldn't go back to sleep. Finally I woke up Mark at 8:30am because I just couldn't keep going. I've been running on very little sleep lately. Jackson hasn't been sleeping well and  I haven't been sleeping well while he is sleeping. So it is finally catching up to me. I was able to sleep in for about 3 hours this morning which helped me significantly. I'm already feeling better!

My happy baby playing in his gym!

Just relaxing on the pillow! I'm kinda spoiled!

Photo Op at Linvilla Orchards

Rainy Day

Today was a quiet and rainy day. Jackson decided to go back to sleep from about 8:30-11:00am. I must say I enjoy the random days to sleep in with him especially since he hasn't been sleeping as well lately. I feel like I am never satisfied with his sleeping habits but at the same time, I know how lucky I am. Since Jackson was born, he has been an easy baby. He has his high maintenance tendencies but overall he's pretty laid back and more so as the days and weeks go by. He is on a good schedule of eating, playing & sleeping and as long as I stay in tune to his changing mood and don't miss that sleep window, he generally falls asleep easily with little or no assistance at times.

We went to Linvilla Orchards this past weekend and I used it as a festive photo op. Jackson wasn't thrilled with my ideas to put him in the middle of a pumpkin patch but his 'poopoo' face is priceless and something I love to catch in pictures.

By the time we tried to get a picture of the 3 of us together, Jackson was getting very antsy. I didn't blame him though! But I'd say it was a semi-decent shot for our first official time.

(picture to come later...having issues uploading!)

Anyways, Jackson is getting bigger and bigger by the day or by the minute. It is soo fun to see more smiles and  'almost' giggles. Every day is so fun. I never thought I would say this, but I don't want to go back to work. I always was one of those people who thought I would want to but if it was possible for me to stay home, I would. Unfortunately, I need to get back to work sometime soon. For those who don't know, I am hoping to do some 1 on 1 (TSS - Therapeutic Support Staff) through a local staffing agency. I figure that is my best bet at this point where I can bring in some money but not be away from Jackson too much. I'll keep you posted on that. The progress is slow because of clearances that I am waiting on and then I will have to wait for the right client/case/schedule to come along.
